Name:

Barbie Solbakken

Job at Camp Gallagher this Summer:

Assistant Director and Expedition Leader

I wanted to work at Gallagher this summer because…

I believe it is one of the best places to grow and learn about yourself. I was a camper for four summers when I was in high school and the memories and friends I made are still very much a part of who I am. Our staff is AMAZING and the campers bring Gallagher to life.

In the “off season” you can find me…

teaching math and coaching girls basketball/softball at Bellarmine Prep HS in Tacoma, WA.

My favorite Camp Gallagher traditions are…

sundown, detail games to determine chores, and taking a camp-wide photo on the porch of Hurricane Ridge at the end of each session.

My favorite overnight spot is…

Anderson Island, nothing better than a walk to the General Store and the freshwater lake!

My favorite camp meal is…

taco night. On overnights: foil dinners with hot sauce!

My favorite camp song is…

Free of Charge

I just can’t live without my...

hot sauce & crocs.

If I could sum Camp Gallagher up in three words, it would be...

real, laughter and salty.

Nestled on the shores of Puget Sound, Camp Gallagher is overnight summer camp for middle and high schoolers.
